Welding
With welding in high demand, Chicago Women in Trade offers a free 10 week intensive (288 training hours) that prepares women and non-binary individuals with the skills to build a career in manufacturing, welding & metalworking construction trades. I quickly fell in love with the practice, and combined my background in architecture & interior design to create stunning lamps. I do comissions, so don't be afraid to ask!
- MIG, SMAW and TIG welding in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
- Read and interpret manufacturing blueprints, welding symbols, and technical documentation.
- Adjust, repair, and test equipment and components to detect and analyze malfunctions to verify and resolve issues.
- Utilize shop math and measurement tools to implement fabrication techniques to ensure parts conform to specified tolerance.
- Trained on Lincoln and Miller MIG and TIG Welder
- Can use common hand, power, pneumatic, and electrical tools Oxy-fuel equipment, plasma cutter, chop saw, shear, and angle grinder.
